Friends Thru Cancer, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Preston County residents as they navigate the financial burdens that accompany a cancer diagnosis. Through this fund, the community is empowered to provide assistance to their neighbors and friends in times of need. All funds are EXCLUSIVELY used to support residents of Preston County.
Founded in 2018 as a community service project in collaboration with the churches of Preston County, Friends Thru Cancer, Inc. has extended its support across numerous communities, reaching residents in every corner of the county. As a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Friends Thru Cancer, Inc. continues its mission to make a lasting impact.

The Cooper Project is hosting Buggy Riders Against Cancer "Kickin' Cancer's Butt" on May 9, 2026. Pre-order a t-shirt by April 10, 2026. The cost for the t-shirt is $20. Friends Thru Cancer, Inc will receive a $5 donation from each t-shirt sold.

Friends Thru Cancer, Inc. is seeking individuals, groups, and organizations to help raise funds for local cancer patients in Preston County.

The Cooper Project offers inspiring silk lined hats for the most delicate heads. They have teamed up to make beautiful hats for cancer patients and survivors. Mrs. Cooper is fighting cancer herself but these hats bring joy to her. The Coopers have donated over 140 of these toboggans to cancer charities, clinics and patients.

The Preston County FRN brings community resources together to facilitate collaboration and coordinates to fill gaps in community services. We publish an annual Family Resource Guide for the community. The FRN also facilitates the Preston Prevention Partnership coalition which is tasked with reducing substance use in the community, especially within our youth community. The FRN meets the First Monday of the Month at 11:30pm (no meetings in July and December) at the Preston Memorial Hospital – Magnolia Room, 150 Memorial Drive, Kingwood, WV.
